Bio

Pete Veijalainen is a director based in Helsinki, Finland, with a career spanning over twenty years in commercials, documentaries, short films and music videos. His work has been recognized internationally, including a Cannes Lions Young Director Award, and over the decades he's built a broad command of moving image and storytelling. His style is versatile yet centered on character-driven stories that view the world through a warm, imaginative sense of humor.

His work has taken him from the Netherlands and Central Europe to Dubai and Asia.

A strong hands-on post-production background and close attention to where the technology was heading led Pete to become one of the earliest adopters of AI-assisted filmmaking, back in the field's first years. His short film Lessons in Life was recognized with an award at the AI International Film Festival, Hollywood, California. Alongside his own production work, Pete lectures and trains companies and individuals in AI-assisted content creation.

Pete works as a freelancer and is happy to take on projects globally in person or via AI. He's also Creative Director and AI Director at Goat Labs — the best point of contact for collaboration inquiries.
